Phosphorous Bombs

Incendiary bombs were dropped in clusters to spread fires. They were filled with highly combustible chemicals such as phosphorous, magnesium or petroleum jelly (napalm). Incendiary bombs killed large numbers of people in Germany and Japan in the later years of the war.
