Somalia, a country
in north-east Africa, was invaded by the British and in 1884 established
a protectorate in the area on the coast facing Aden. Italy
also colonized a larger area that became known as Somalia Italiana.
In 1941 Somalia
was occupied by the British
Army and
remained under British control for the rest of the Second
World War.
