Objectives
The children should learn:
(a) how people became kings in Anglo Saxon England;
(b) why there was a political crisis when Edward the Confessor
died in 1066;
(c) why the Witan selected Harold Godwinson to become king in
1066;
(d) that we do not have accurate visual representations of people
living in 1066.
Outcomes
Children should have knowledge of:
(a) the lives of Edward Confessor, Harold Godwinson and William,
Duke of Normandy, before 1066;
(b) the way England made political decisions in the 11th century;
(c) how and why visual images were created in the 11th century.
