Frederick Pegram was born in 1870. He joined the staff of the Pall Mall Gazette and in 1894 began contributing to Punch Magazine.

Books illustrated by Pegram include Poor Jack (1897), At the Rising of the Moon (1898), London's World Fair (1898), The Orange Girl (1899) and Martin Chuzzlewick (1900). Pegram was the cousin of Henry Block and the brother-in-law of F. H. Townsend.
Frederick Pegram died in 1937.
