Vaughn Shoemaker
Vaughn Shoemaker was born in 1902. He worked for the Chicago Daily News and twice won the Pulitzer Prize for The Road Back (1938) and Still Racing His Shadow (1947). His cartoons were criticised by Herman Goering who described his work as "horrible examples of anti-Nazi propaganda". Shoemaker died in 1991.
