Singleton & Cole was a small company based in Shrewsbury. the company produced its first set of cards, Celebrities, in 1901. The company issued its first set of football cards in 1905. The black and white series of photographs was called "Footballers". These now sell for £120 a card but the series was reprinted in 2001 and can now be obtained for a reasonable price from dealers. The series included Billy Meredith, John Doig, William Balmer and Fred Blackburn.
