George Flowers
George Flowers was born in Darlaston on 7th May 1907. He played football for Edlington before joining Doncaster Rovers in 1929. A wing-half, over the next six years he scored seven goals in 149 games. He also played for Bradford Park Avenue (1936), Tranmere Rovers (1937-38) and Rochdale (1939). His nephew, Ron Flowers, played for England (1955-1966) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (1952-1967).
