Dealey Plaza

Dealey Plaza is located in Downtown Dallas and was the site where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The Plaza was opened in 1936 and named after Dallas Morning News Publisher George Bannerman Dealey. Prominent streets in the area include Elm, Houston and Main. At the time of the assassination, buildings that overlooked Dealey Plaza included the Texas School Book Depository, Dal-Tex, Dallas County Records, Dallas Criminal Courts and the 'Old Red' Courthouse.

Dealey Plaza is now a Mecca for people fascinated by the assassination and apart from a few minor cosmetic changes, has remained virtually as it was on the 22nd of November, 1963.
