John, Duke du Berry, commissioned the three Limbourg brothers to produce a Book of Hours in about 1405. The book is considered to be one of the most beautiful books published during the Middle Ages. It includes several pictures of Berry's Palace de la Cite in Paris. Others show show the Chateau Eyampes and Berry's estates on the banks of the River Clain near Poitiers. Unfortunately, soon after they finished the book, the three Limbourg brothers died of the plague.
