JFK's Visit to Miami Stadium

On December 29, 1962, President Kennedy and his wife Jackie attended a ceremony at Miami's Orange Bowl Stadium to honor the returning heroes of Brigade 2506 from their failed Bay of Pigs invasion.

During the emotional event, Pepe San Roman presented Kennedy with the treasured Brigade flag. In a reckless moment, Kennedy stated that the flag would be returned to the Brigade in a free Havana.

A Cuban man identified only as 'Chino' was taken into custody and questioned concerning an assassination plot planned against Kennedy while at the Orange Bowl engagement.
