Salim Bachi Khan was born in India. A very talented footballer he represented his country.

He moved to Scotland and played for Glasgow Rangers in the 1936-37 season. According to The Guardian: "What caught the eye of the locals was sadly not his talents, but the bandages he wore on his feet instead of boots; apparently, that was the custom where he came from. Still, he figured twice for the reserves in 1936, scoring a penalty against Hamilton."

Salim Bachi Khan was one of the first non-white footballers to play in Britain before the Second World War. Others in this category included Arthur Wharton, Hassan Hegazi, Walter Tull, Alfred Charles and Hong Ying Soo.
