Caroline of Ansbach, the daughter of the Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach, was born in 1683. She married George, Prince of Hanover in 1705 and accompanied her husband and his father, George I, to England, when he became king in 1705.

As the Princess of Wales she was a strong supporter of Robert Walpole. Her husband, George II became king when his father died in 1727.

The couple had seven children: Frederick Lewis, William Augustus (1721-1765), Anne, Amelia, Caroline, Mary and Louisa.

Caroline of Ansbach died in 1737.
