William
Crawford
was born
in 1833. He worked as a miner and eventually became Secretary of the
Durham Miners' Association. A member of
the Liberal Party, Crawford was elected
to the House of Commons in the 1885
General Election. Crawford held the Durham seat until his death
on 1st July 1890.
