Fredrikke
Schojoth was
born in Norway in 1860. She studied art
in Oslo and Berlin before moving to the United States. A supporter
of women's suffrage, and an opponent
of child labour, Fredrikke's work appeared
in several journals and eventually became art editor of the Woman's
Journal. Fredrikke married A. H. Palmer, a professor at Yale
University. After the death of her husband she left New Haven
to live in Honolulu
