Waldo
Frank was born in New
Jersey in 1889. Educated a Yale University,
he developed radical views and contributed to socialist
journals such as The Liberator
and New Masses.
In his novels Frank tended to advocate social and political reform.
His novels included City Block
(1922) Holiday
(1923), Chalk Face (1924)
and The Death and Birth of David Markand
(1934).
