Lynn
Frazier was born in Medford, Steele County, Minnesota, on 21st December,
1874. When he was a child his family moved to Dakota Territory. Educated
at University of North Dakota he worked in agriculture.
A
member of the Republican Party, Frazier
was elected as Governor of North Dakota in 1917. His term came to
an end in 1921 and the following year was elected to the Senate. Nye
served on the Committee on Indian Affairs and worked closely with
William
Borah,
Henrik Shipstead, John
Elmer Thomas, Bronson Cutting, Gerald
Nye, Robert LaFollette Jr., Burton
K. Wheeler and
other progressives in the Senate.
Frazier's isolationist views were unpopular in the Second
World War and he lost his seat in Congress in 1940. Lynn Frazier
died in Riverdale, Maryland on 11th January, 1947.
