Aki
Kaurismaki was
born in Orimattila, Finland, on 4th
April, 1957. After studying film he wrote, produced and directed Saimaailmio
(1981) in Finland. Kaurismaki has made his reputation by adaptations
of literary classics such as Crime and Punishment
(1983), Macbeth (1987) and Hamlet
Goes Business (1987) and the experimental comedies, Leningrad
Cowboys Go America (1989) and Leningrad
Cowboys Meet Moses (1993).
