Anthony
Lund was born in Denmark
in 1844. Lund was one of the 2,000 Danes persuaded to emigrate to
the United States by Mormon missionaries. Lund arrived in 1862 and
settled in Sanpete County. Lund became the leader of this group and
he served as a member of Utah's territorial legislature. He was also
president the LDS Church for over twenty years. Lund, who was considered
the church's main historian, died in 1931.
