Arthur Featherstone was a talented schoolboy footballer and received the Glenny Shield. He was also an outstanding athlete and won the 100-yard sprint event at the Barking Athletics meeting seven times. Featherstone played for Barking in the South Essex League before joining West Ham United in 1905. He made his first-team debut in 1906 but only played one other game that season. In the 1907-08 season he played in five games and scored a goal against Queens Park Rangers on 24th December, 1907. Arthur Featherstone left the club at the end of that season.
