Years War Cards
(1) You arrived safely at St.
Vaast in Normandy on 12th July, 1346.
The English army then marched towards Paris. On the way you stole
from the French. On the 26th August you took part in the English victory
over the French at Crecy. After the battle you were a member of a
small group of soldiers who raided French villages. At Roubaix you
were captured by some French soldiers and they amputated the first
two fingers on your right hand. However, you managed to escape and
you eventually got a boat back to England. On your first day back
in England you were attacked by a gang of men in Dover and they robbed
you of all your savings.

victory over the French at Crecy. You then took part in the Siege
of Calais. The people in the town refused to surrender and you spent
the whole winter camped outside the town. The weather was so bad that
some English soldiers died of the cold. While you were in France you
enjoyed drinking their local drink called beer. Whereas English ale
is made from barley, French beer is made from hops. After the people
of Calais surrendered on the 3rd August, 1347, you returned to England.
With the money you made from your time in the army you were able to
purchase 2 oxen from John Giffard.

bolt. Although it was only a minor wound, it turned gangrenous and
you had to have your left arm amputated. After the people of Calais
surrendered on the 3rd August, 1347, you returned to England. With
the money you made from your time in the army you were able to purchase
an oxen from John Giffard.
